Option 1- Leave as is
Option 2 - If you sign a player to a 1 year deal and they are coming off a previous RFA/Franchise tag, they are not eligible to be tagged. You must assign that player a minimum 2 year deal in order to tag said player. 1 year + option does not count as 2 years.
Example - Paul Goldschmidt was coming off a franchise tag in 2017. He could not be tagged. If you won him in the 2017 off-season free agency and only assigned him a 1 year deal, you would not be able to tag him for the 2018 off-season free agency period.
This would go into effect starting next year. (Meaning players given 1 year contracts in the 2017 off-season will be allowed to be tagged)
