The rules for the player auction following the draft are as follows:
If you wish to bid on a player, create a thread and state the player, his position, and you bid. If the player already exist in a thread, post your bid in that thread.
The minimum bid is 500K. You must state your bid in total AAS. Your bid must stand for 72 hours in order for you to win that player. Once you win a player, you must state their contract within 48 hours of the ending bid. Remember that their contract can only be +/- 30% of the AAS. You may then include him on your roster and add him to your payroll.
Increasing the bid for MLB players will go as follows:
Within the first 24 hours: 500K minimum increase
24 hours - 48 hours: 1M minimum increase
48 hours - 72 hours: 3M minimum increase
Increasing the bid for minor league players will go as follows:
Within the first 24 hours: 100K minimum increase
24 hours - 48 hours: 200K minimum increase
48 hours - 72 hours: 500K minimum increase
Once the minimum increases it doesn't go back down to original limit. For example once the minimum increases to 1M it stays at 1M until 16 hours after the last bid then it increases to 1.5M.
Players won in FA have to have a minimum of 1 year and a maximum of 5 years on their contract.
The minimum salary is $500K.
For players that have $500K salaries, the maximum contract they can have is 2 years. For players having an AAS of $750K or less, the maximum is 3 years.
Contract Options:
-You can only have 1 option year; meaning that you can't sign a player to a 3 year contract with 2 years of options.
-The option year must be the AAS that you win the player with. Meaning if your winning bid is 10M AAS, the option year must be 10M.
-The option year has to be the last year of the contract. You can not sign a player to a 2 year deal and say the 3rd year is the option and if you pick that option up, it adds 2 more years to the contract.
-If you assign an option to a player and you decide not to pick up that option, you will still have to pay a 10% buyout penalty.
-You must state the contract and the option year when you post the contract for the player you won. You have 48 hours to make your contract final. Once the 48 hours is up, you can not change the contract.
-You are only allowed to give out 5 contract options per fantasy year. (starts when free agency begins and will end the Sunday of championship week)
Restricted Free Agents:
- The team who restricted the player has 24 hours to determine if they want to match the AAS and another 24 hours to post the contract if said player was matched.
