And to answer your question Compare Lest and Gio - Good for me this year because i have no cap room either way Gio Cheaper. Very few good hitting catchers period! If you beg to differ you've must have been ignoring baseball over the past 20 yrs! Hanley good at steals batted 247 last year moving positions this year not in my must have category! I hold no value in two prospects that wont be a factor in atleast 3 years and the trade met the needs i needed on my MLB team. With my cap there was no way to get a great pitching staff but wit Ad Gon I had a chance to strengthin my MLB hitting and I did . I agree I took a chance with Cabrera but Mccan has been a steady hitter where most catchers arent! Ichiro gives me steals to replace hanley and I wanted a 3 or 4 pitcher which he gave me Volquez! I'm not going to lie I'm building for this year and I filled my needs with this trade ! I'll say if this trade gets blocked I'm out of this league! I've had enough of this I think " i'm a MLB commish and everyone else is stupid" bull shit! Fantasy is fun but you guys make it seem like its your life at stake and you have made this league a waster of time! I'm not trying to load up commish I know him and asked for some certain needs I needed taken care of for my team this year! He gave me a trade I feel gets me rid of players I did not over value and I got players I feel will help me have a solid team this year!

Here will be my argument which I am sure is similar to The Team's argument also:
First off, McCann is no "on the down slide" cathcer. He has averaged 22 HR and 86 RBI over the past 6 years and he is still only 27 years old. So if he is on the down slide....then the rest of the catchers in the MLB shouldn't even be on a team
While Hanley is a great talent and there is no arguing that he could be the best player in the majors next year, he did hit a whopping .243 with 10 HR and 45 RBI last year. He also does not have that great of a contract considering he cost on average 15.5M a year. Even with the bad year last year, he is the best player in this trade.
Next, you didn't even mention Asdrubal Cabrera who is on many lists as a top 5 SS and a top 5 SS keeper. He was 3rd last year in HR as a SS with 25 and 2nd in RBI with 92. Add in 17 SB and he was a pretty well rounded player last year and is still very young at the age of 26.
Now onto, the "old as dirt" player named Ichiro Suzuki. Yes he is still old, but he is still a very strong player. You could consider last year a down year for him as he did not hit for as good as an average as he usually does. But that doesn't mean he is not productive. He had 5 HR, 47 RBI, and 40 SB last year. Compare that to Michael Bourn (who went for auction for 11M AAS) and you will get the exact same numbers except for 20 less SB. So I guess if you value 20 SB at 6M per year, then Ichiro is worthless. But he is a good player who on a down year hit .272. He will still hit probably around .290 with around 50 RBI and 40 SB. Pretty cheap salary for him compared to Bourn.
Now we will talk about worthless Edinson Volquez. He did struggle last year in Cincy but he has a new start in a pitcher friendly park in San Diego. He is still young at the age of 28 and should be a solid #3 SP for the Padres. Throw in that he has a nice one year contract that isn't expensive, then overall, Volquez has decent value.
Now onto Gio, first off, everyone knows the value of Gio...if he was in the auction...he probably would have went for 9+M AAS. He is of great talent and a very very very good young starting pitcher. You can not speculate that The Team can not keep him next year because you have NO idea what trades will happen. Maybe the team will trade Josh Johnson to free up room to keep Gio?? Maybe he will trade someone else and he will have cap room. You can NOT base you value of Gio b/c you think he probably won't keep him next year. GIVE ME A BREAK!!!
Then add in a closer who has averaged 27 saves over the past 5 years. Gregg is 33 years old, but his contract is great and he is a very solid closer.
Then you want to talk about prospects. Yes they do have value in this league. However, the prospects that are more major league ready do have more value to me and probably to The Team. All those prospects won't be in the majors for at lest 2 years if not 3 or 4. And you know since EVERY prospect is a guarantee. These are B and B+ prospects that some pan out and some are busts. I may have got better prospects in the deal, but the other guy got much better MLB talent that he can use NOW.
And funny how you didn't say anything about this trade 4 hours ago when we were talking trades including one of those prospects. And then all of a sudden, when I tell you I will not trade you that prospect, you say how bad that trade is. I wonder what you would have said or wouldn't have said if we came to an agreement....HMMMMMM

Oh well being commish has its advantages. All I can say is WOW....the people on the committe are the VP of the league (the person who helped me create this league) and then 2 people who joined the league and who I have no clue in hell are. But you are right...I rigged this league so I could win....holy fuck...I don't even have the best MLB team or MiLB team. Don't be pissed b/c he didn't trade you Bogaerts.

Like I said I pulled the protest. Couldn't care less. I can see now its a few of us vs the commish and his friends. Thats ok. Makes it more sporting. Just let us know who they are so we wont waste our time dealing with your minor leagues. As for explanations McCann is and injury waiting to happen last couple years. Gio is great but he'll lose him next year cause he wont be able to afford him.Gregg lol won't touch that one. Lookes like you were watching a AARP commercial when you made this deal. Thing is Commish if the deal was flipped would you of made it. No way and you r lying if you say yes. But in the end it's all col. I and a few others now see who we can and can't deal with. Good luck all.

I would love to see a catcher with the stat line like his the past 5 years. Keep on speculating what might happen.
Heck, I better trade your Kershaw right now b/c he might blow out his elbow. I should also trade you Longoria b/c he was hurt last year and that means he will for sure be hurt this year. Heck I will throw in Heyward b/c he is a huge bust and was injured last year. Even throw in Rollins b/c he was hurt also. Man I better just quit this year b/c a lot of my guys were hurt last year and that means that they are on the way down and suck.
And man...you can predict the future??? You can predict what trades will happen and who everyone will keep off their rosters?? Please let me know who I can't keep next year so I can trade them!!!!!
But you are right...actually...I have 6 teams in this league under different names and always trade with myself. So I wouldn't trade with me or my other 5 teams. Expos and Wannabees and The Team are all me just with different names....watch out now!!!!

Nope...I don't get that upset over fantasy baseball. Just stating my argument for the trade. And I can not comment if I would or would not b/c it would depend on team needs and I think he posted his team need. But you are talking a bunch of ifs when saying he can't keep Gio IF he can't afford him next year. I believe the good ole saying is "If my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle"

Probably not cause he doesn't need some of the MLB teams that I needed on my team! We had another deal workin with another team not to mention when it fell apart I asked if he would still wanna deal the player I needed to put the team I wanted for this year! And ya my team got old considering I got all MLB players and not guys who are still a 50/50 chance to be worth anything in the MLB . Edison V - 28 Mccan - 27 Cabrera- 26 Gio- 26 Carrasco- 24 (Out Tommy John Just added him because you cant win with guys that are over 25) Dang my roster is so old our balls are saggin and we have our doctor on speed dial in case we run out of VIAGRA

I don't think I'd make a lot of the trades I've seen but I'm stingy. However, if they both posted their reasons and they are good with it, I don't think this trade is vetoable or even near that bad. Hanley for McCann and Asdrubal, Lester for Ichiro/Gio, then the rest. Seems fairly even to me depending on what you want to do with your team. Now you can accuse me of being in on some huge conspiracy but truth is I don't know anyone in this league.

I'm on the trade committee and I'll review it since there has been some questions about it. Just looking at it real quickly I don't see a big deal with it. The team is trying to win now while the commish team is getting some minor league guys for the future. But I'll take a closer look at it and see if anyone else objects to it.
As for the comment that it's clear this is the commish and his friends against the rest well I can safely say there is only 1 or 2 people in this league that even knows the commish so your incorrect with that statement.

There's no such thing as a perfectly even trade. Different teams have different needs, different owners have different strategies. This deal isn't even close to being a veto.
Of course I'm part of the conspiracy so.........

As I said last night I don't want any looking into trade. It's an ok trade. I have my opinions but thats all it is my opinion. I guess I'm more ticked that I tried for weeks to get negotiations going with the Team and never got replys to emails but all of a sudden he works a monster trade in days with his friend. Guess thats my issue but like I said last night oh well lets move on. Sorry to both Tyler and Curtis for complaining about trade. Guess I was peeved about the Pats lousy showing last night lol. Lets move on and sweep trade under rug. I'm ok.

Guys What happened to having fun? We have so much invested here i do not know how some of us sleep. If i make a trade with someone so be it. This is fantasy not Reality and good on you if you can pull the wool over my eyes on a trade. Commish offered me the chance to cancel my auction bids but i was man enough to make them as i wanted these guys that i stuck with except for one. I thought i drafted a pretty good team and know i have to work it out so i have some more cap space. I got into this for the fun not the grief relax and fun guys.

The only time a trade should EVER get rejected is if there is obvious collusion. In this case, I don't see how you could even try to make that argument. Just because you feel like a trade is unfair, or even if it is in fact extremely lopsided (not so in this case), as long as both sides agreed to the trade on reasonable terms, there is no reason to protest it. There have been trades made where I thought to myself, holy shit that dude just got taken. The right to veto a trade is only there so people can't get away with collusion. Simple as that. If somebody trades away all their studs to the commish and then quits three days later when the trade goes through, then yeah we should all raise hell. Until then, quit complaining and remember that this is FANTASY BASEBALL.
